Domaine Naturaliste Chardonnay 2017 + Lamb Tandoori Cutlets

Mar 08, 2019

At Steamers we love Chardonnay.

And we are continuously expanding our list .... because, this quest, will just never end.

The one we want to chat about today is sort of the “latest kid on the block” who’s already conquered all Western Australia.

Domaine Naturaliste winery and its already famous Artus Chardonnay.

Behind a great wine, there always is a great winemaker.

Bruce Dukes, who has been working in California, and made wines for Pierro, has succeeded in producing some of the best wines from the Margaret River region in less than 10 years.

And what an achievement. His (hidden/secret) vineyards in the Wilyabrup Valley produce fruits of an exceptional quality.

The Artus mixes both Old school and new style Chardonnay.

Big, Woody, Fatty, but yet refined and elegant.

It has never been about making the best Chardonnay, but making the best he could do, and oh boy…

Seafood of course will always be a great match with this wine.

“with a wine of such weight and structure it will also go well with light & spicy meat treats.”

Our Lamb Tandori Cutlets are a perfect match with this one.

They are of course wood fired and the tandoori spice gives a whole new dimension to this classic.

The meat is so tender that you almost do not want to use cutlery on this one.
