Wagyu Beef Fillet + Fromm La Strada Pinot Noir

Fromm La Strada Pinot Noir 2015 from Marlborough, NZ

I had the pleasure to go a few weeks ago to a wine tasting in Sydney,

where the emphasis was on Organic and Biodynamic wines, while showcasing 2 "new kids"on the block: Lark Hill wines from Canberra & Fromm in New Zealand.

Let's focus on Fromm.

Some (me the first) would say: oh, just some other / same stuff from Marlborough...

But not this time.

“Organic, fresh, lively and depth, this is how I would caracterise the whole range.”

Now, for the "La Strada" Pinot Noir in particular: Smoky (which is quite normal after 16 month in French oak), intense, some blackberry mixed with mushroom notes on the nose, great length and acidity on the palate, which, when you have our Tajima Wagyu beef fillet from Northern Victoria (7-8+ Marble score) , (which just melts in your mouth by the way!) you can say you had a great lunch!

It is to me one of those wines that will reach all its expectations only once put next to Great food...
